With plastic surgery becoming ever more popular, some people have made plastic surgery into… a gift. Apparently, in some circles, plastic surgery, or plastic surgery gift certificates, have become popular gifts.

According to leading plastic surgeons, plastic surgery is often gifted by parents to their kids as a graduation gift. It can be taken as a symbolic form of change, where the young man or woman are encouraged to leave behind their high school social past and enter the world of college, or work, with a new face.
With some types of plastic surgery, graduation year just happens to be the right age for a surgery previously postponed due to the patient's young age.  This is often the case with breast implants, reportedly a popular graduation gift for young women.
