Legislative bill in California suggests that oral and maxillofacial surgeons (DDS rather than MD) should be allowed to perform elective plastic surgery on the face and neck. Many dental surgeons already practice reconstructive surgery following car accidents. Should the bill go through, it will allow those surgeons to perform elective cosmetic surgery as well.
